I've been pretty close to home for the last month, so I don't know how this will relate to Illinois. From what I've heard locally, bean yields were generally very good, but short of 'best ever.' I'd guess by 5 bu/A or more, for the most part. Corn harvest here has really just got underway in the last couple of weeks. Everyone's heard about the 'other guy's' high yields, but nobody I know is reaching within 10% of their best. I'd thought that we were really starting to realize a little drydown, but this week I've run into a few reports of moistures in the 30s yet--these fields were late planted, I know. Rationing of LP held back some corn harvest this week. Some contacts in southern Illinios report very good yields, but they also got held back by heavy rain in the last week. Nothing seems to point to record yields for either corn or beans.
